Buick Roadmaster
The odd one out in Buick's range and the reason to check before assuming: this is a rear-drive, body-on-frame car with a small-block Chevrolet V8, sharing its B-body with the Chevrolet Caprice and the Cadillac Fleetwood, while every other Buick of its years is a front-drive V6. The 1994 change to the LT1 brings Optispark ignition — a distributor mounted at the front of the block beneath the water pump, which fails when the pump seeps and is the first thing to establish on a damp-weather no-start. The estate's rear-facing third seat and its tailgate mechanism are its own.
