Chevrolet Bolt EV
The small battery car, sold in Europe for a time as the Opel Ampera-e, and joined in 2021 by the slightly longer Bolt EUV. The battery recall is the single most important thing in its history and it changes what you are looking at. Cells manufactured with two coincident defects could ignite, and the remedy was replacement of the pack — so a great many of these cars are running on a module set considerably newer than the vehicle, with different date codes and, on some, revised diagnostic software. Establish whether the pack was replaced before investigating any capacity or charging complaint, because the answer changes both the expected state of health and which software the car should be on.
