Lamborghini Diablo
The V12 car of the nineties, and it spans a genuine technological boundary that decides what a scan tool can reach. Early cars use Lamborghini's own LIE injection and are effectively pre-OBD, needing marque-specific equipment or none at all; from 1995 the cars move to Bosch Motronic and become far more readable. The VT adds a viscous-coupled front drive whose behaviour is passive and sets nothing. The recurring items are heat-related: the engine sits under glass in a very hot bay, and wiring insulation, the fuel-pump relays and the cooling-fan controllers all degrade there — which is why an intermittent fault on one of these is worth chasing at the connector before the component.
