Mahindra BE 6
Mahindra's first car on the INGLO electric platform, and the point at which none of the marque's combustion knowledge transfers. There is no engine, no fuel system, no catalyst and no emissions monitor on it, so the generic powertrain corpus applies only where a fault is electrical or chassis-side.
The motor is at the back and it drives the rear wheels. Every other Mahindra in this catalogue is front-engined, and most drive the front wheels or all four, so the drive unit, its cooling and its wiring are not where experience with the rest of the range puts them.
The drive unit is Valeo's rather than Mahindra's own. Valeo announced the order in November 2023 and enumerated it — the electric motor, its inverter and the gearbox — so INGLO names the platform and not the hardware, and a drive-unit procedure is the supplier's to publish. Neither company states a designation for the motor, which is why no engine-family name appears on the rows below: there is nothing to search on but the output. And 3-in-1, which is the phrase attached to these cars most often, belongs to the combined on-board charger, DC-DC converter and power distribution unit — not to the drive unit, so the term leads away from the motor rather than to it.
The brakes are by wire. The pedal commands the system rather than pressurising it directly, and regeneration does most of the retardation in normal driving — so pedal feel, brake-light behaviour and pad wear all read differently from a conventional car, and a complaint about any of the three is not necessarily a brake fault at all.
Three pack sizes wear the same badge. The 59 kWh and 79 kWh cars launched together and a 70 kWh option was added afterwards, so the high-voltage layout and the charging behaviour depend on which is fitted rather than on the model year alone.

Its Power Output table lists the 59 kWh and the 79 kWh only — it was never updated for the August 2026 Sporteq launch that added this pack — and it does contain the string 180 kW, one table lower, as the 79 kWh car's DC charging rate. The figure here is the XEV 9S's 241 bhp for the same pack, which is the motor's output and not a charging rate
