Fault stored in a secondary driveline module
Another driveline module — transfer case, differential lock, all-wheel-drive coupling — carrying a fault, reported by whichever module depends on it. It is a pointer rather than a diagnosis, and the module named is usually healthy.
These systems cooperate, so one member behaving unpredictably is reported by the others rather than by itself. Read the secondary module's own codes first. The inputs are the commonest cause: wheel speeds, steering angle and throttle position come from elsewhere, so a single failed wheel speed sensor makes a healthy coupling store performance faults. Several modules reporting invalid data at once usually names the network or a shared sensor, not several failed modules.
Typically specialist work. Needs equipment or training most home workshops do not have.
