Faulty brake pressure sensor
The sensor measuring hydraulic pressure in the brake circuit, as distinct from the booster or servo pressure sensor. This one reads the pressure the driver is actually generating in the hydraulic system, and stability control uses it to know how hard the vehicle is being braked and to modulate individual wheels.
A fault disables the systems that depend on it rather than the brakes themselves. Conventional braking is unaffected — the hydraulics are mechanical — but stability control, hill hold and brake assist withdraw, and their warning lamps illuminate together. That cluster of lamps with normal-feeling brakes is the presentation.
These sensors are often integrated into the hydraulic control unit, which changes the economics considerably: on many vehicles the sensor is not separately available and the whole unit is the part. So confirm the fault thoroughly before ordering. A reading that is not zero with the pedal released is the clearest evidence of an offset fault, and it is a check that takes seconds and needs nothing but live data.
