Interlock circuit deliberately bypassed
A high voltage interlock loop deliberately defeated — bridged, jumpered, or a connector shorted to satisfy the module. The loop exists to prove the high voltage system is still sealed, and bypassing it removes the only protection telling the vehicle a cover is off.
It is recorded because it happens, usually to keep a vehicle moving during diagnosis, and because the module can sometimes detect the signature — a loop that reads intact where a component is plainly disconnected. Do not do it and do not leave it done. The correct route is the manufacturer's isolation procedure, and a bypass left in place hands the next person a system that will not warn them. A loop reading healthy while a high voltage connector is open is the finding, and it should be treated as a safety fault rather than a diagnostic shortcut.
