Internal short drawing excessive current
A module or component shorted internally, drawing far more current than the circuit expects. The protection reacts before the component announces itself, so what is seen first is a blown fuse, a tripped driver, or a supply that collapses whenever the circuit is energised.
The signature is a fuse that blows immediately on replacement, which is worth treating as information rather than as bad luck: it means the short is live and permanent rather than intermittent. Disconnect components on the circuit one at a time with the supply monitored — the current falling to normal as one is unplugged names it. The module reporting the fault is often not the faulty one: it is protecting itself against a load, which is why replacing it changes nothing.
