Space-saver spare wheel fitted
A narrow temporary spare fitted, so one corner has a different rolling radius. The stability and traction systems compare wheel speeds continuously, and a space-saver turns measurably faster than a full-size wheel.
The systems read that as permanent slip. Traction control intervenes, stability control warns, and the codes name sensors that are all working correctly. It is designed behaviour and the reason these wheels carry a speed limit — the vehicle's dynamics genuinely differ. On four-wheel drive it is mechanically damaging, forcing a centre differential or coupling to absorb a difference that never ends. Ask whether a spare is fitted before diagnosing a speed-related fault, since it is the one cause visible from outside the vehicle.
