Timing belt or chain fitted incorrectly
Timing components refitted a tooth out or with the tensioner set wrongly. It is a repair-induced fault, and the timing is what identifies it: correlation codes and poor running immediately after timing work.
One tooth is enough. The camshaft-to-crankshaft relationship shifts, every calculation built on it is offset, and the module stores a correlation fault — the engine runs, badly, down on power and often with a misfire. Check the marks rather than the module. A tensioner set wrongly is the quieter version: the timing is correct now and the belt or chain slackens under load, so the fault appears intermittently and worsens. Verify against the manufacturer's procedure rather than by eye, since some engines require locking tools and the marks alone are not sufficient.
