P2074: Manifold Absolute Pressure/Mass Air Flow — Throttle Position Correlation at Higher Load
What to do
This is the breathless-under-load variant — power missing at exactly the moment you ask for all of it. The cheap checks come first: the air filter, the intake ducting (squeeze it — a collapsing duct feels soft), and any boost pipework, before sensors are suspected.
What this code means
The pressure and airflow readings do not agree with the throttle's position under load — P2073's sibling, pointing the opposite way.
At load, flow is huge and leaks are invisible; what shows instead is restriction. A throttle wide open with pressure or airflow failing to follow means something is throttling the engine that is not the throttle: a collapsing intake duct sucking shut at high flow, a filter loaded to blocking, a boost leak bleeding off what the turbo made, or an exhaust restriction backing the engine up — the corpus's blocked-catalyst and crushed-pipe suspects. The idle variant catches leaks; this one catches chokes. Between them the pair localises the fault by when, which is more than any single sensor reading can say.
