The electric hatchback, and mechanically a Volkswagen ID.3 — the same MEB platform, the same rear drive unit, the same battery and charging hardware. Volkswagen's information applies without qualification and there is far more of it, which is the single most useful thing to know when one arrives with a fault. Rear-wheel drive on every version, so a drive-motor code names the rear axle.
