Vehicle
Lincoln LS
The one rear-drive Lincoln saloon of its era, and the only one that shares its platform with a Jaguar — the DEW98 floorpan under it also carries the S-Type, and the 3.9 V8 is an AJ-V8 derivative built in the same plant. That is where its documentation is: a diagnosis learned on front-drive Continentals and Town Cars does not transfer, and Jaguar material often fits better than Ford's. A five-speed manual was offered on the V6 for the first three years, which is unique in the range and changes the whole driveline conversation.

First generation 1999–2006
The 2003 facelift is substantial — new engines, revised electronics, the manual dropped — so a 2000 and a 2004 car have little powertrain in common.

Information, not instruction
CarGeek is a reference, not a service manual. Its pages are written from public sources and from what other people have found, never from a manufacturer's own service information, so they can be wrong or incomplete for your particular vehicle. Some of what they describe carries real risk: high voltage, fuel under pressure, stored energy, hot and moving parts.
Have anything you intend to act on checked by a trained person against the manufacturer's own procedure for your vehicle. Nothing here replaces that procedure.

Nothing posted about this yet. Whatever you found is worth writing down — even a dead end saves someone the same afternoon.
What makes one worth reading:
- The car — make, model, year and engine. The same fault behaves differently on each.
- What you measured, not only what you replaced.
- What actually fixed it — or that nothing did, which is worth knowing too.
