Mercedes-Benz B-Class

The compact MPV, and the model where Mercedes' front-wheel-drive architecture starts — so almost nothing from the rear-driven saloons applies to it. The W245's CVT is the item worth naming: an unusual choice for the brand, and a shift-quality or slip complaint on one is a transmission investigation rather than an engine one. From the W246 it moves to MFA with the A-Class, sharing that car's engines, its dual-clutch and its faults.
