Mitsubishi Galant

The mid-size saloon that carried Mitsubishi's engineering reputation, and the VR-4 is the version worth knowing: twin-turbocharged, four-wheel drive and four-wheel steering in an era when almost nothing had any of those, with its own hydraulic rear-steer actuator and control unit that fail independently of anything else. The ordinary cars are conventional port-injected fours. The North American ninth generation is a different and much simpler vehicle sharing the name.
