Subaru SVX
A Giugiaro-styled grand tourer with a 3.3 flat six used in no other Subaru, and a window-within-a-window canopy whose glass and seals are unobtainable. Two mechanical facts govern it: the 4EAT automatic is the only transmission it was ever offered with — there is no manual — and that gearbox fails in a well-known pattern under the engine's torque, usually at the torque converter and the duty solenoids. Early cars are full-time all-wheel drive; some later ones are front-drive only, which is not obvious from outside.
