Toyota FJ Cruiser
The retro-bodied off-roader, and underneath it is a Land Cruiser Prado — the J150 frame, the 1GR-FE V6 and a part-time transfer case with low range. That is where its information lives: Prado and 4Runner material of the same years covers the chassis, driveline and engine almost completely, and there is far more of it than there is under this name. What is genuinely its own is the body — the rear-hinged half doors and the very small glass area — which is why a great many of its complaints are water ingress, door alignment and camera or sensor faults rather than anything mechanical. Sold in far larger numbers, and for far longer, outside North America than in it.
