Toyota T100
Toyota's first attempt at a full-size American pickup, and it is the Tacoma and 4Runner's mechanicals in a larger body — the 3RZ-FE four and the 5VZ-FE V6 are shared with both, so their material covers the engines, gearboxes and transfer cases almost completely and there is a great deal more of it. That is the practical route in, because very little was written under this name: it sold poorly, having no V8 and a cab smaller than its American rivals', and was replaced by the Tundra in 1999. On the V6 the timing belt is the service item that decides whether one of these is worth keeping — it is an interference engine and the belt is not a lifetime part. Built in Japan and imported, which is why so few configurations were offered.
