Vibration from a broken exhaust mounting
A broken or perished exhaust mounting letting the system move and vibrate. The exhaust is deliberately hung on rubber to isolate it from the body, and a failed mount transmits movement to everything attached to it.
Sensors are what suffer. A particulate or temperature sensor shaken continuously produces noisy readings that trip rationality checks, and its harness is flexed until it breaks. The knock sensors hear it too, reading mechanical noise as detonation. So a set of unrelated codes with a rattle underneath is worth inspecting physically before anything is measured. Check every mount by hand with the exhaust cold — a perished rubber that has torn through is obvious, and the system will sit visibly low or touch the body.
Typically an easy fix. Often worth checking before paying anyone to look.
