Dongfeng's own petrol fours — the DFMA and turbocharged DFMC — in the S30, AX7 and the models around them.
Dongfeng builds engines under licence from several partners and its own beside them, and the designations do not distinguish the two — so establishing whether a given engine is Dongfeng's own or a licensed PSA or Nissan design is the first question, and the answer decides which parts catalogue applies.
They are conventional modern fours, chain-driven and port-injected on the naturally aspirated versions, direct-injected on the turbos — with the ordinary consequences of each.
Documentation in English is essentially nonexistent, and the export markets these reach have thin parts networks. That is the practical constraint rather than anything about the engineering.
