Jatco's JR913E — the nine-speed automatic in the Nissan Titan and the Armada.
⚑ It is Jatco's, not ZF's, which matters because almost every other nine-speed in a road car is a ZF 9HP and its reputation — hunting, hesitation, a difficult early life — is what a search for 9-speed automatic returns. None of that is about this gearbox.
Nissan owns most of Jatco, so this is effectively an in-house unit and its material lives under Nissan's service documentation rather than under a supplier's.
It replaced a seven-speed in vehicles that tow, and the duty cycle is what shapes it: heat, fluid condition and a cooler matter more than mileage.
It is recent and low-volume — no independent failure pattern has established itself, and dealer material is the practical source.
