Lada XRAY

A compact crossover built on the Renault-Nissan B0 platform that also underpins the Sandero and Logan, and that is where its running-gear information lives — the chassis, suspension and much of the electrical architecture are Renault's rather than Lada's. The engines are mixed: Lada's own 21129 and 21179 sixteen-valves, and a Renault H4M sourced unit that pairs with a Jatco CVT, which is a genuinely different diagnostic proposition from the manual cars. On the Lada engines the interference-belt rule applies as it does across the range. On the Renault-engined cars, Sandero and Duster bulletins are worth reading, since the parts and the fault patterns are shared.

Information, not instruction

CarGeek is a reference, not a service manual. Its pages are written from public sources and from what other people have found, never from a manufacturer's own service information, so they can be wrong or incomplete for your particular vehicle. Some of what they describe carries real risk: high voltage, fuel under pressure, stored energy, hot and moving parts.

Have anything you intend to act on checked by a trained person against the manufacturer's own procedure for your vehicle. Nothing here replaces that procedure.

What makes one worth reading:

  • The car — make, model, year and engine. The same fault behaves differently on each.
  • What you measured, not only what you replaced.
  • What actually fixed it — or that nothing did, which is worth knowing too.
