Vehicle
NIO ES8
The seven-seat SUV the marque launched with, and the first vehicle built around its battery-swap architecture — which is the single fact that changes how it must be diagnosed. The pack is a serviceable, exchangeable unit rather than a structural fixture, so on a Battery-as-a-Service car the pack currently fitted may have no history with the vehicle at all: cycle count, state of health and thermal history belong to the pack, not the VIN, and reading them tells you nothing about how this car has been used. A degradation complaint is therefore often resolved by a swap rather than by a repair. The swap interface itself — its latches, alignment sensors and high-voltage connectors — is a wear item with its own fault set that no fixed-pack EV has.

Battery swap means the fitted pack's history is not the car's; the swap interface latches and connectors are their own wear item.

Information, not instruction
CarGeek is a reference, not a service manual. Its pages are written from public sources and from what other people have found, never from a manufacturer's own service information, so they can be wrong or incomplete for your particular vehicle. Some of what they describe carries real risk: high voltage, fuel under pressure, stored energy, hot and moving parts.
Have anything you intend to act on checked by a trained person against the manufacturer's own procedure for your vehicle. Nothing here replaces that procedure.

Nothing posted about this yet. Whatever you found is worth writing down — even a dead end saves someone the same afternoon.
What makes one worth reading:
- The car — make, model, year and engine. The same fault behaves differently on each.
- What you measured, not only what you replaced.
- What actually fixed it — or that nothing did, which is worth knowing too.
