Lucid Air
The saloon the marque launched with, and the car that carries its defining engineering choice: a system voltage above 900 volts, the highest of any production road car. That is a safety fact before it is a performance one — the isolation, shutdown and protective-equipment requirements exceed those written for the 400-volt cars most procedures assume, and treating it as "an EV like any other" is the mistake to avoid. Its Wunderbox charging unit handles both 400 and 800-volt infrastructure without an external booster, which gives a charging complaint a specific component to interrogate rather than a network to blame. The motors and inverter are unusually compact and are serviced as a unit, so a motor fault rarely resolves to a part inside it.
