Mitsubishi Eclipse
Not the Eclipse Cross — a front-drive coupé, and for its first two generations one of the Diamond-Star cars built in Illinois alongside the Eagle Talon and Plymouth Laser, which are the same vehicle. The turbocharged 4G63 with all-wheel drive is the version that matters and the one whose parts are shared with the Lancer Evolution; the naturally aspirated cars are ordinary. From 2000 the platform becomes Chrysler's and the all-wheel drive and the 4G63 both disappear, so a 1999 and a 2001 Eclipse have almost nothing in common beyond the badge.
