Faulty gate select actuator
On an automated manual, the actuator moving the lever across the gate to choose which plane of gears is available. A select fault removes gears in groups — no first and second, but third upwards fine — which is a pattern nothing else produces and identifies the actuator before anything is measured.
Typically specialist work. Needs equipment or training most home workshops do not have.
