What to do
Expect gears missing in groups, or no gear selection at all. Have the car recovered if it will not hold a usable gear.
What this code means
A circuit fault in the actuator that moves the mechanism across the gate — the motor or hydraulic valve doing the work, as opposed to the sensor reporting where it got to.
Sensor and actuator faults on the same axis are worth separating deliberately, because they are diagnosed from opposite ends. A sensor fault means the module cannot see the position; an actuator fault means it cannot change it. Both produce gears missing in groups, and only measurement tells them apart.
