High resistance in throttle motor wiring
Resistance in the throttle motor's circuit high enough that the motor cannot develop full torque, though the circuit is continuous. It is the partial version of an open circuit and it is much harder to find, because every continuity test passes and the throttle does move.
The plate reaches its position slowly, or not quite, so the module reports a position not achieved within the expected time rather than a dead circuit. The fault worsens as the motor warms, since resistance rises with temperature — which produces a throttle response that degrades over a journey and is perfect the next morning.
Measure voltage drop across the circuit while the motor is working, comparing the module's output against what arrives at the throttle body. A corroded connector at the throttle body is the commonest cause, since it sits in the engine bay and is disturbed for every intake job. Distinguish it from a binding plate by checking the plate moves freely by hand — a stiff plate and a weak drive produce identical codes.
