P0572: Cruise Control Brake Switch A Circuit Low
What to do
Check whether the brake lights are staying on when the pedal is released. If they are, the battery will go flat and the car is misleading other drivers — treat it as urgent and disconnect nothing yourself; have it repaired.
What this code means
The cruise control brake switch circuit is reading low — a short to ground, or a switch stuck in the applied position. A switch permanently reporting brake application prevents cruise control engaging and, on many vehicles, holds the brake lights on continuously.
Brake lights that stay on with the car parked will flatten the battery overnight and are also illegal, so it is worth checking directly.
