What to do
Usually driveable. If the vehicle has had recent work near the module, or an aftermarket installation packed around it, mention that — a module with its cooling obstructed genuinely does overheat.
What this code means
The module's internal temperature signal is above its plausible range. Rated slightly higher than its siblings because a genuinely hot module is worth excluding before the reading is dismissed as a sensor fault — a module cooking itself is a real condition, and P0634 is what it sets when the temperature is believed.
A module packed against a heat source, missing a heat shield, or drawing excessive current internally are the physical causes worth checking.
