What to do

Cooling loop first — pump, level, air — then the load question: a tired twelve-volt battery or power-hungry accessories work the converter hot. Dimming lights on a hot day is the two stories meeting.

What this code means

The DC-DC converter's internals crossed their temperature threshold — the thermal event, where the sensor families report circuits.

The converter joins the inverter in the P0A3C diagnosis: most share the electronics' cooling loop, so pump, level and air are the first checks, and the engine's coolant bottle proves nothing. Its own contribution to its heat is load — a converter working flat out against a failing twelve-volt battery or an accessory overload runs hot doing it, so the P0A8D overload questions belong in this diagnosis too.

A hot converter derates, and a derated converter is P0A8D's undervoltage story arriving by the thermal route: the families meet in the middle.
