P0BC3: Hybrid/EV Battery Temperature Sensor E Circuit Range/Performance
What to do
As P0BC2 — the reading governs what the car permits the battery to do, so a sensor fault costs performance and charging rate on a healthy pack.
What this code means
Temperature sensor E is returning a plausible reading that does not agree with the rest of the pack.
The comparison between sensors is the whole check here, and it is a good one: cells physically near each other cannot be at very different temperatures, because heat moves. So a sensor disagreeing with its neighbours by more than the pack's geometry allows is either faulty or is genuinely sitting on a hot spot — and the second possibility is the one not to dismiss, since a single cell group heating up is exactly what an early internal fault looks like. The argument is at P0BC2.

Information, not instruction
CarGeek is a reference, not a service manual. Its pages are written from public sources and from what other people have found, never from a manufacturer's own service information, so they can be wrong or incomplete for your particular vehicle. Some of what they describe carries real risk: high voltage, fuel under pressure, stored energy, hot and moving parts.
Have anything you intend to act on checked by a trained person against the manufacturer's own procedure for your vehicle. Nothing here replaces that procedure.

Nothing posted about this yet. Whatever you found is worth writing down — even a dead end saves someone the same afternoon.
What makes one worth reading:
- The car — make, model, year and engine. The same fault behaves differently on each.
- What you measured, not only what you replaced.
- What actually fixed it — or that nothing did, which is worth knowing too.
