P2513: Event Data Recorder Request Circuit Low
What to do
Nothing about driving or safety is affected. If any work has been done inside the cabin — seats, carpets, trim, a stereo installation — mention it, as this wiring runs under the interior and is easily pinched or damaged during that kind of job.
What this code means
The event data recorder request circuit reads below its valid range, normally a short to ground. What the circuit does, and why the consequence is evidential rather than mechanical, is at P2512.
A short to ground on a request line is a wiring fault rather than a module one, and its location is worth thinking about: this line runs between modules that are usually in different parts of the vehicle, so it passes through areas where trim removal, seat work and floor repairs happen. Work in the cabin is a more likely origin than anything under the bonnet.

Information, not instruction
CarGeek is a reference, not a service manual. Its pages are written from public sources and from what other people have found, never from a manufacturer's own service information, so they can be wrong or incomplete for your particular vehicle. Some of what they describe carries real risk: high voltage, fuel under pressure, stored energy, hot and moving parts.
Have anything you intend to act on checked by a trained person against the manufacturer's own procedure for your vehicle. Nothing here replaces that procedure.

Nothing posted about this yet. Whatever you found is worth writing down — even a dead end saves someone the same afternoon.
What makes one worth reading:
- The car — make, model, year and engine. The same fault behaves differently on each.
- What you measured, not only what you replaced.
- What actually fixed it — or that nothing did, which is worth knowing too.
