Mahindra's 1.2 petrol three — 1,197 cc, naturally aspirated, multi-point port injection, built at Chakan from 2016. Mahindra calls the family G12 and this member of it mFalcon or G80, and in this form it is fitted to one model only, the KUV100.
⚑ The diesel beside it in the same car is a different engine, and the badge does not say so. The KUV100's D75 is a 1,198 cc common-rail diesel three developed as its own programme; it shares the cylinder count and the class and nothing else. Petrol and diesel advice for this car are not interchangeable in either direction. See 1.2 Falcon D75 (3D12).
Three cylinders is the fact that changes the diagnosis. A single-cylinder misfire is a third of the engine, so it arrives as a shake rather than as a stumble and is often reported as a mounting or a driveline fault. The balancer arrangement that makes the layout tolerable is itself a source of noise complaints that are not faults, and an idle roughness that would be a defect on a four is normal here.
The family grew and the naturally aspirated member did not. Mahindra added a turbocharged port-injected G12 TCMPFi in 2018 and a turbocharged direct-injection G12 TGDi in 2022, both 1,197 cc and both in the XUV300 and XUV 3XO, where they are badged mStallion rather than mFalcon. So a fault tree found under the family name may be describing an engine with a turbocharger and direct injection that this one has neither of. See mStallion.
What this one's complaints look like is the ordinary port-injected set — a carboned throttle body giving a hunting idle, ignition coils, and a coolant temperature sensor that ruins economy quietly. There is very little independent documentation of it in any language, and none of the Peugeot-descended material that serves the mHawk and m2DiCR engines beside it transfers here.
