JAC 4GA / 4DA / 4DB

JAC's own petrol and diesel fours — the 4GA petrol and the 4DA, 4DB and D19 diesels — in the T8 and the pickups and light lorries around it.

⚑ JAC's designations are the least standardised in this catalogue. One vehicle carries codes in at least four different schemes — 4GA3-4D, 4K22D4T, JE493ZLQ6E, LJ481Q6 — because several came in with acquired engine plants and were never harmonised. Searching the model rather than the code is unusually the better strategy here.

Several are licensed or derived designs rather than JAC's own from scratch, and their parts trails lead back to those origins — which is worth pursuing when JAC material runs out, as it does quickly outside China.

The diesels are conventional modern common-rail engines with the conventional items: an EGR valve that carbons shut, injector seals, and on emissions-controlled versions a particulate filter that short urban work will block. These are working vehicles, and the duty cycle is exactly the one that blocks a filter.

Documentation in English is essentially nonexistent, which is the practical constraint on all of them.
