Mazda MPV
Mazda's full-size people carrier, and the two generations are not variations on one vehicle — they are opposite layouts. The LV is longitudinal and rear-driven, with a transfer case on the four-wheel-drive cars, which is closer to a light truck than to anything else Mazda sold; the LW that replaced it is a transverse front-driver on car underpinnings, and takes Ford's AJ V6 in most markets. Establishing which one is in front of you comes before any driveline diagnosis, because almost nothing about the first carries to the second. Later LW cars also brought the RF turbodiesel to Europe, which is the same unit the 626 and Mazda 6 use.
