MINI Aceman
The battery-electric crossover sitting between the Hatch and the Countryman, built on the dedicated electric platform MINI developed with Spotlight Automotive rather than on the UKL architecture the combustion cars use — so it shares very little with the rest of the range mechanically. Diagnosis is high-voltage work: a 39 or 49 kWh pack, a single front motor, and the isolation monitoring, pack conditioning and shutdown procedure that go with them. The conventional twelve-volt system still runs the body electronics, and as on any EV a weak twelve-volt battery produces a car that will not wake up at all, which is the commonest presentation and reads as a much larger fault than it is.
