Chrysler Sebring
The mid-size saloon and convertible that preceded the 200, and a Chrysler-era design rather than a Fiat one. Its knowledge does not transfer forward: the cars that replaced it share almost nothing with it.

FJ 1995–2000
The coupé, and a Chrysler badge on Mitsubishi Galant engineering — built at Normal, Illinois beside the Eclipse, twin to the Dodge Avenger. Its 2.0 is the Chrysler 420A and its V6 is Mitsubishi's 6G73, so a diagnosis follows *neither* marque cleanly. Shares nothing but the name with the convertible sold alongside it.

JX 1996–2000
The convertible, and a different car entirely: the Chrysler JA floorpan under the Cirrus and Stratus, stretched, built at Toluca. Sold in Europe as the Stratus Cabriolet. The four-cylinder is Chrysler's own 2.4 EDZ rather than the coupé's 2.0, and only the Mitsubishi V6 is common to both.

Second generation (JR and ST-22) 2000–2006
Two different cars under one name. The saloon and convertible are Chrysler's own JR platform with Chrysler engines and the Ultradrive; the coupé is the ST-22 it shares with the Mitsubishi Eclipse, with Mitsubishi engines and a Mitsubishi gearbox. Nothing but the badge crosses between them.
