Daewoo Nubira

The mid-size saloon, hatchback and estate that sat above the Lanos, and the model that later became the Chevrolet Lacetti and Optra in many markets — so those names are worth searching when parts prove scarce. The engines are Daewoo's own E-TEC development of the Opel Family 1 and Family 2 designs, which again means Opel information reaches the engine more usefully than anything published under this badge. Two faults recur: the ignition coil pack on the E-TEC engines, which fails as a unit and produces paired-cylinder misfires rather than a single one, and the four-speed automatic's pressure control solenoid. Timing belt intervals are the item that decides whether an engine survives, and it is an interference design.
