Dodge Viper

A front-engined V10 roadster and coupé with no traction control, no anti-lock brakes and no airbags on the earliest cars, which is the fact that most changes how one is worked on and driven. The engine is an all-aluminium 8.0 or 8.4 V10 with a cast-iron liner set; its cooling, its side-exit exhausts on early cars and the heat they put into the sills are recurring service subjects. Later cars gain conventional electronics, so the year decides whether there is anything to scan at all beyond the basic emissions system.
