Fiat Seicento
The rear-of-the-range city car that followed the Cinquecento, and one of the last very simple cars in wide use — which is exactly why it appears here. The 1.1 FIRE engine with single-point injection sits right at the boundary of OBD-II: the earliest cars are not compliant and need Fiat's own three-pin diagnostic connector, while cars from 2000 read normally on the standard port. Its recurring faults are correspondingly basic and mostly electrical — the ignition switch and its contacts, earth straps that corrode where the engine grounds to the body, and a throttle-position sensor that wears a flat spot and produces idle-control faults. The Sporting's 1.1 has a different management calibration but the same hardware.
