Nissan Versa

The subcompact saloon sold under at least four names depending on where you are — Versa in North America, Almera and Sunny across Asia and the Middle East, Tiida Latio in Japan for the first generation — which is the practical point, because searching only the American name reaches a fraction of what exists. Note that the Versa Note hatchback is a different vehicle and belongs with the Note. Mechanically these are as simple as Nissan gets, with the HR16DE and a CVT that is the recurring subject: a shudder or a whine here is a transmission diagnosis, not an engine one, and the fluid specification is particular.
