Zamyad Padra

A Chinese cab on the Zamyad Z24's chassis, and the car that replaced it — so it diagnoses as two halves that come from different documentation. Everything from the bulkhead back is the Nissan Junior running gear the Z24 has carried since 1970; the cab, the dashboard and the body electrics are lifted from the Foday Lion F16, a Chinese pickup, and nothing Nissan publishes describes them.

The Karun is this car with a second row of seats — the double-cab Padra Plus, on the same chassis, the same M24 and the same gearbox — so it is a body style here rather than a second page.

The Padra Plus is Euro 5 with EOBD, anti-lock brakes and electronic brake-force distribution, where the Z24 beside it has drums all round and no emissions diagnostics at all. It is not the first Zamyad pickup to have any of that, which this page claimed until it was checked: khodrobank puts the earlier Padra at Euro 4 with ABS and EBD already, so read the car rather than the generation.

The earlier Padra is a different engine from the Plus — sixteen valves against the Plus's eight, and a six-speed gearbox against its five — so a figure quoted for one does not describe the other. Both khodrobank and car.ir publish 95 hp and 175 Nm for a car they call Padra and 94 hp and 187 Nm for one they call Karun, which reads like a contest and is not one: the Karun is the Padra Plus double-cab, and khodrobank's two pages agree with this catalogue on four fields nobody was asking about — design year 1396 against 1401, sixteen valves against eight, six speeds against five, and Euro 4 against Euro 5.

Information, not instruction

CarGeek is a reference, not a service manual. Its pages are written from public sources and from what other people have found, never from a manufacturer's own service information, so they can be wrong or incomplete for your particular vehicle. Some of what they describe carries real risk: high voltage, fuel under pressure, stored energy, hot and moving parts.

Have anything you intend to act on checked by a trained person against the manufacturer's own procedure for your vehicle. Nothing here replaces that procedure.

Nothing posted about this yet. Whatever you found is worth writing down — even a dead end saves someone the same afternoon.

What makes one worth reading:

  • The car — make, model, year and engine. The same fault behaves differently on each.
  • What you measured, not only what you replaced.
  • What actually fixed it — or that nothing did, which is worth knowing too.
