Nissan Titan
Nissan's full-size pickup, built on the F-Alpha frame it shares with the Armada and Patrol, and powered for most of its life by the VK56 V8. Two faults define it. The first is exhaust manifold cracking and broken manifold studs on the 2004-2010 trucks, which produces an exhaust leak upstream of the oxygen sensors and therefore lean codes and fuel-trim drift on an engine with nothing wrong with its fuelling — a case where reading the trims without inspecting the manifolds sends the diagnosis in the wrong direction entirely. The second is the rear axle and its vent, where water ingress after wading destroys the differential quietly. The Titan XD is a longer, heavier truck and for a period carried a Cummins 5.0 V8 diesel with its own separate diagnosis.
