P0657: Actuator Supply Voltage A Circuit Open
What to do
May run very poorly or not at all. As with the sensor reference faults, several actuator faults stored together usually mean one shared supply rather than several broken parts — worth saying so if a long list of components is proposed for replacement.
What this code means
The supply the module uses to drive actuators has failed open. Where sensor reference voltage powers things that measure, actuator supply powers things that move — injectors, solenoids, valves and relays.
The consequences are correspondingly physical. Losing this supply can stop fuel injection, disable variable valve timing, freeze the throttle and prevent turbo control, all at once. Several actuator circuit faults appearing together point here rather than at several failed actuators, in exactly the way several sensor faults point at a reference voltage.
