P0948: Hydraulic Pump Relay/Control Circuit High
What to do
The car may not move at all. Have the fuse checked first — but if a replacement fuse blows again straight away, do not keep fitting them; that means the pump is drawing too much current and the fuse is doing its job.
What this code means
The pump relay control circuit reads above its valid range — an open circuit or a short to supply — which generally leaves the relay unable to close. No pump means no pressure, and on this kind of gearbox no pressure means no gear at all.
A blown fuse is worth checking before anything else, and worth checking properly: a fuse that has blown because the pump was drawing excessive current will blow again immediately, and that tells you more than a fuse that was simply old.
