P2253: O2 Sensor Negative Current Control Circuit High Bank 1 Sensor 1
What to do
Expect worse economy and reduced power. Ask for the circuit's resistance to be measured rather than just checked for continuity — a corroded terminal passes a continuity test and still causes this.
What this code means
The negative current control circuit reads above its valid range — a short to supply, or a return path with enough resistance that the module cannot pull it down. A corroded terminal produces the second of those and tests as continuous, so resistance rather than continuity is the measurement that finds it.
