BMW X4
The coupé-roofed X3 — F25 X3 underneath the F26, G01 X3 underneath the G02 — so X3 information is the right information throughout, and that is the most useful thing to establish. The engines are the mainstream BMW families and carry their familiar faults: on the N20 and N26 four-cylinders the timing chain and its guides wear at the rear of the engine, which sets timing-correlation codes and is an engine-out job by the time it is heard; on the N57 and B57 diesels the swirl-flap actuator and the EGR cooler are the recurring items. The xDrive transfer case's actuator motor and its own control module generate driveline codes that are frequently mistaken for a differential problem.
