Mahindra Thar Roxx
It is not a longer Thar, and that is the first thing to establish. The Thar Roxx is a five-door body on the Scorpio-N's ladder frame, not on the three-door Thar's shorter one, and Mahindra's own code for it is W502. So the vehicle it shares parts, wiring and fault patterns with is the Scorpio-N — a Thar procedure may or may not transfer, while a Scorpio-N one usually does.
Both engines are the Scorpio-N's, and both come in two states of tune that the badge does not distinguish: the 2.0 mStallion petrol makes 160 hp with the manual and 174 hp with the automatic, and the 2.2 mHawk diesel 150 hp and 172 hp the same way. A performance or boost complaint therefore has to establish the gearbox before it can establish anything else, because the expected figure moves by roughly fifteen per cent between two cars wearing the same badge.
Rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive are both sold, and only the four-wheel-drive cars carry a transfer case. Anything reading as a driveline fault on a rear-wheel-drive car has nowhere to come from on that branch, and assuming the low range is there is a common way to start in the wrong place.
