Wat te doen
Expect the car to protect itself — reduced power, or a refusal to enter READY. Do not disconnect the twelve-volt battery hoping to clear it; if the fault is real it will return, and you may add relearn procedures to the bill. Ask the workshop to verify the module's supply and earth before any replacement is discussed.
Wat deze code betekent
The hybrid powertrain control module — the computer that coordinates the whole system — has failed its self-check.
This is the conductor: it decides when the engine runs, how the two electric machines share the work, when the battery charges and discharges, and what happens to the accelerator pedal's request. The engine module, the inverter, the battery module and the transmission all take their cues from it. A fault here therefore produces symptoms that look like faults everywhere — which is the corpus's most repeated argument arriving at its most senior module.
The diagnostic order does not change for seniority: supply and earth first, then software, then the module. What does change is the cost of guessing wrong. This module is married to the vehicle — immobiliser, battery data, learned values — and a replacement must be programmed to the car, so condemning it on a failed self-check alone, without ruling out the supply that makes healthy modules fail self-checks, is the most expensive version of the mistake.
